The I-4 Ultimate Project is over 21 miles from West of Kirkman Road to East of SR 434 in Central Florida. Interstate 4 (I-4) is often referenced as the ‘backbone of transportation in Central Florida’, linking Tampa and Daytona Beach.
FDOT has completed several studies over the past two decades to find ways and resources to improve mobility in this essential corridor in of Florida. Much work has been completed on I-4 such as; widening portions of the roadway, adding auxiliary lanes, and improving interchanges. With a continuing trend for growth in population, freight and tourism, I-4 has become the most pressing Project to be completed in the state of Florida.
